Noah's Soccer Game

Here are a few photos of Noah from his soccer game. He loves to play goalie. And really came along way over the summer. His coach even made a comment regarding how much better of a player he has been this year. He has really been putting the effort out there. Go Noah! Last year, they were the Green Machines. This year, they are the Mighty Maroons. There are roughly 15 kids on the team, and we added another Noah this year. That makes a total of three Noah's on one team. It's confusing for all, I am waiting for them to start calling them Foster, Stock and Trapp.

Notice the "scarves" in the above photo...

Sofie Goes to School Too...

Sofia and Camden (My brother's little boy!) are in the same grade. Aunt Megan caught this great photo of the two of them going in to school on their first day.

Sofie's First Day of School

So yesterday, I remember thinking. I wonder how many kids are sick for their first day of school. How disappointing that must be to miss such an exciting day. If it was a movie, we would have called it foreshadowing... Let me explain, today I worked a half day, so that I could be there to take Sofie to her first day of school. We got cleaned up. I drove the boys to school. Everything was good.

We went to the bank, got the oil changed in the car, bathed the car, hung out at the house for a while, just killing time waiting for school to start. Sofie and I had talked about it being her first day, and she really wanted a happy meal for lunch. So about 11am, we headed to McDonalds. After getting our food, we sat down to eat. Sofie managed one little bite, and then got sick in McDonalds. So no first day for Sofie today. We headed home, packed up a bag of fresh clothes, and Sofie headed to Grandma's.

So tomorrow, hopefully, will be Fia's first day...

Noah & Rylan's First Day of School

As is obvious from the photo, Noah is an old hat at "First Day of School". He had to be drug out of bed. And coerced into every step of the getting ready process. Rylan, on the other hand, was very excited. He even got up early to pack his lunch-box. I felt terrible telling him that it was a half day, and that he wouldn't need a lunch.

Rylan's First Game

First, apologies to Noah who had his first game on Saturday. Daddy took him, and I forgot to have him take the camera. So expect some photos of Noah's game next weekend.

As for Rylan, he had his first game on Sunday. He did really well. He is a very aggressive player. To the point that he is constantly tripping over the other kids feet, and ending up in a heap on the ground. Horrifying enough on his own, but when the tiny little girls end up at the bottom of the pile, I feel like I am just a sitting duck for an irate Mommy. To the girls credit, they're tough. No crying, they just dust themselves off, and back to the game they go.

I would love to get him to chill out a little. I have even started bribing him to be more careful. Yesterday, I promised to take him to see Nanny McPhee if he could make it through a one hour game without taking anyone out! He got to see the movie, but it was a close call. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

All the little girls thought Rylan was the cutest... Just look, I have photographic proof... First they chased him...

Then came the smiles...

And finally, a little hair flipping...

Tiny Hot Dog Buns for Breakfast?

Feeding the kiddos breakfast this morning, Noah asked for the chocolate hazelnut granola. Sofie seconded that, but Ry just kept going about his business, not even responding to the question. So I started making him a bowl of cereal with the same cereal that Noah and Sofia had chosen. He freaked! He ran across the kitchen yelling "Not that kind. I hate that kind! I want the kind that looks like little teeny tiny hot dog buns..."

Rylan is so funny...

Sofia's Fourth Birthday!

On Sunday, we threw together a last minute bowling party for Sofia's fourth. The Humes family, My brother Jay's family, and one set of my parents, Jim & Marge, attended the "Fourth Birthday Bash". The kids had a great time bowling. And the party itself went pretty smooth. Sofia was happy to have everyone out to help celebrate her birthday.

Grandma Fran sent Sofie a box of birthday goodies from American Girl. The swimsuit below was her favorite of the lot. She refused to take it off, and she even tried to emotionally black mail me into letting her wear it. If you haven't been exposed to emotional blackmail yet, it's something like this. After a no, Sofie grabs her blanket. Heads upstairs to her room. Either curls up in bed. or if she is really desperate to get her way the corner. And cries. Rocking back and forth saying "Me Momma no luv me no moe..." Over and Over! Obviously I know she's manipulating me, and I cave everytime.

Honey Bend Campground

This weekend, we went to a private campground near Litchfield, IL. It is one of the campgrounds that I can remember visiting as a child. And it was relatively the same. Larger trees, more activities, but all in all the same as I remembered. Wade, the kids and I swam, fished, played mini golf... The campground even had a huge slip and slide for the kiddos. The campground staff flooded it with water and dish soap, and all the kids took turns sliding down on their bellies and on inner tubes. It looked like an amazingly good time. However, I thought it was shocking that the kids could slide down in all that dish soap. It would cover their faces and fill their ears. And not one complaint about their eyes. If one drop of Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo makes it into their eyes at bath time, all hell breaks lose. But dish soap on the slip and slide.... Not a problem! I took tons of video of the crazies on the slip and slide, so I'll try and figure out how to post them.
