Mommys and Mummys

Rylan asked me the other day if there were still Mommy's. Obviously, the first thing he got from me was a questioning look. Then I said "Ry every woman that has a baby is a Mommy. Why wouldn't there be anymore Mommys?" I thought this conversation was because my Mom had to put her 17 year old pomeranian to sleep, and it has confused Rylan to no end. It set off an endless set of questions about death and Heaven. After Wade buried the dog in my Mom's backyard, Rylan even asked if she had to dig her way to Heaven. And the whole thing has made him scared that something would happen to Mommy or Daddy. If you know of any children's books on the topic, we could really use one.

Anyway, he looked at me like I was crazy and said "I mean Mummy's. The people they wrap up with toilet paper..."

So this weekend we took the Crazies to see the Mummy's at the St. Louis Art Museum.

Sofia and Jamaica

I caught Sofie and Jamaica watching TV together yesterday. Jams is a very mellow 13 now, and apparently a great TV watching compananion.

Swim Lessons

We have been activity free for much of the Christmas season. Sofia's dance classes even took a small hiatus. So we are back into our routine, and swim lessons have started back up. The kids are doing really good. Noah has started to learn a few actual swim styles, and is no long er reliant on the doggy paddle. Rylan is starting to feel a little more comfortable in the water. He's a pretty cautious little boy, and he is terrified of drowning. So this is a big improvement. Sofia (who knew!) is a fish. She swims all over the pool, with a huge smile on her face. She even jumps in and isn't bothered by going all the way under the water.

The Sunday before Christmas was spent with Fran, Dennis, Steve, Julie, Emma and Audrey. The kids has a great time playing with their cousins. Although Rylan was missing his "Best Buddy", Zoe. It was a great start to the Christmas season.

My absence...

Sorry for the lack of posts. The sad little laptop I use for uploading photos died. Good news, it has been replaced and I am going to try and catch back up with the going on's of the Trapp family.
