On Good Friday, I took a vacation day. The kids and I met up with my friend from work, and her little boy. We spent a beautiful spring day at the zoo. It was crazy crowded. But still an amazing time. We started the day in the Children's Zoo. Rode the train. Rode the carousel. Ate lunch. Saw some bears And saw the new baby elephant. We definitely left before we could see much, but we are planning another visit later in the season. Hopefully, by that time the sea lion enclosure will be complete and the zoo will be more accessible.
Sofie's beautiful black eye. Apparently, jumping off a wooden swing, and then bending down to retrieve your flip flop is not a wise plan of action.
Tristan, Sofie, Noah and Rylan climbing on the seals. After taking the photo Rylan read the sign on the backside which clearly asks you not to climb on it. Whoops!
Friday night, the kids had their friends over for a camp-out. Unfortunately, the backyard was retaining water, and they couldn't sleep under the stars. Fortunately, we have a fire pit, and so we still got to roast hotdogs and marshmallows.
Easter morning at our house came very early. My brother and nephew were baptized on Saturday night at the 8:30 Mass. And I was sooooo tired. Especially after staying up all night on Friday for the sleepover. Not to detract from a fabulous weekend. But, I need some sleep!
You'll notice in the Easter morning photo that Sofie's hair is in braids. She loves all the waves, and wanted that 'do for Easter. And look at those handsome boys!
Before Easter brunch we took a quick photo in front of the house. We had brunch with my brother and his family, his in-laws, and both sets of my parents at Ravanelli's in Shiloh. Everything about it was amazing. The food was perfect. Our table was ready at the time of our reservation. We always had full drinks. And there must have been at least ten different deserts to choose from. Heaven! I hope this will be the new family Easter tradition.
Last night, after stuffing our bellys full at Ravanelli's, playing outside, cleaning cars, and visiting my favorite Grandma, Rylan lost one of his front teeth.
