Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

El Arco de Cabo San Lucas
Well, this past weekend was our now annual Girl's Trip. Heather, Sheri, Julie and I spent a long weekend poolside in Cabo San Lucas at the beautiful Hilton. I confess, it was my first visit to Cabo San Lucas. The weather was perfect. The restaurants AMAZING!!! And I couldn't have picked more perfect companions for my journey into laziness. Fabulous trip!

Julie and I ventured out into the Sea of Cortez for a few hours of snorkeling. The scenery for the boat ride was absolutely beautiful. We cruised by Cabo's famous Arch.
We saw a family of sea lions...

People were out on the water, parasailing....
One night for dinner, we went into San Jose. The square was decorated for Mexican Independence day which was celebrated on the 16th of September.
The Catholic church was built as a Spanish Mission. It was an amazing sight, and it was wonderful to see that it is still holding Mass, and not mainly a tourist attraction.
We stayed at the Cabo San Lucas Hilton. It was beautiful. And the service was exceptional. Here is a sampling of the many photos I snapped of the swimming pool.

On our last night in Cabo, we ate dinner at the Hacienda Hotel. The restaurant was called Cocina and Cantina. It was my favorite dinner stop of the trip. The location was high up on the beach with fabulous views. And the food, authentic Mexican, was divine. Yum!!

WOW!!!!

Cleaning out the attic last weekend, I found as photo of Wade at about the same age. Turns out EVERYONE is right. Noah is a Daddy look a like!!! Wow!

August 2011

Missing home now firmly behind us... I am here today to try and summon the courage to write a blog entry worth reading. It was a hard battle for me to recover the desire to go about my daily routine after having three weeks with my family. Who wants to got to work? Clean our house? Blah!!! Planning another vacation is the only thing I can think of to raise my spirits.

Here's the latest from the Trapp's... After returning from vacation, soccer was quick to start. Both boys were excited to see their soccer teammates and really returned easily to the routine of practices and games.
Rylan kicking a corner kick...
Rylan doing his best to block!
Along with soccer, another big change was in the works. The first day of school. Fourth grade for Noah. First grade for Rylan. And kindergarten for Sofia. The Crazies were all ready for school to start this year. Noah and Rylan missed their school friends. And Sofie was just excited to eat lunch at school. As of today, we are a month into the year, and it is going really well.
As summer neared it's end, we snuck in a few visits to the pool... We even spent one evening at Splash City. It is a little bit of a drive from our home, but it was a great trip. Noah and Rylan loved the Surfing attraction.
Spent a few days on a return trip to Silver Dollar City...
We watched our garden fall into the the hands of our garden friends... My favorite were the swallowtail caterpillars who ate the dill in the herb garden down to the stalks. I let them! They are beautiful caterpillars and hopefully their full bellies will help them to turn into wonderfully beautiful butterflies next summer.
We cheered on the redbirds at a game or two... This game against the Braves was my favorite. We started the evening with a few appetizers at the white tablecloth side of Mike Shannon's. Then we finished the evening with seats in the Best Buy Suite.
Do all kids love "free" food as much as ours do?
We spent a beautiful Sunday, with great friends picking apples... Sofie and Chloe loved the ponies...
All of the kids posed for a picture in the apple. From the left: Noah, Rylan, Elise, Emilie, Sofie, Chloe, Benjamin (Noah's friend) and Claire
And then again in the apple picking wagon... Noah, Rylan, Claire, Benjamin, Emilie, Sofie, Elise & Chloe
Baby yaks... They were the cutest things in the petting zoo. And so docile.
